SustainaBuild’s extended building-life-cycle process provides a cost effective and easy-to-use communication interface between all stakeholders in the building-construction industry. As more stakeholders and team participants realize the benefits and act on the opportunity, additional profitable alternatives develop. The extended building-life-cycle process is a combination of experience and proven methodology.

The SustainaBuild extended building-life-cycle process is made up of 4 stages, each with specific functions and benefits:

(1) Pre Deconstruction Audit

  • Preliminary Building System Evaluation
    • Function: Assess devolumization potential of building/project
    • Benefit: Evaluation report on feasibility o deconstruction
  • Audit and Site Exploration
    • Function: Deconstruct project plans
    • Benefit: Cost and revenue estimates

(2) Deconstruction

  • Function:
    • Coordinate removal of building contents and project materials
    • Reduce demolition and landfill costs
  • Benefit:
    • Building owners and managers list inventory to receive zero cost demolition or to share net revenues within project schedules
    • Environmental offset emission credits

(3) End User Identification (Sales and Marketing)

  • Function:
    • Identification of end users for inventory
    • Internet based global marketing
    • Real-time inventory (just-in-time availability)
  • Benefits:
    • Revenue sharing

(4) Reconstruction

  • Function:
    • Special end-user reconstruction report
  • Benefit:
    • Extend life cycle of building materials
    • Reduce energy and mitigate GHG emissions
